Lots of stuff in that column that I'd love to see be true, but he's glossing over a lot of the very real tradeoffs involved in the making and manufacturing of a disk drive. For starters, the disk on a hard drive is stiff because you couldn't find your data if it were not, and the head already flies in a cushion of air.
Let's just say I'll believe it when Dell and HP start buying them.
